A blog about hunting Springs in the financial markets, mastering one setup and mainly mastering yourself

Hello there, fellow traders, and market hunters! I’m happy to kickstart this trading blog, where I’ll be sharing my journey through the immense world of trading.

Why am I doing this? Simple. Trading isn’t just a hobby for me – it’s a passion that I’d like to share. Over the years, I discovered that my biggest insights came out of personal introspection, backtesting, journaling, doing some boring research, or just staring at the charts daily and observing the reaction of the markets.

What initially drove me to the markets in 2013 was the technical analysis and the charts. It was not a love at first sight for me as I didn't have a mentor back then to show me the way so now and then I read a book or two, did some research or trade a bit, but nothing serious nor consistent. What drove me back to the markets and made me stay was the psychological aspect.

You have to get this about me. I have a background in organizational psychology and coaching. Most of my non-trading career is working with organizations and groups of people. Helping others get stuff done, find a solution, or break a barrier often in their mind is my bread and butter. I have my fair share of personal challenges like ultra running and whatnot I've undergone just to test where the limit is.

Trading became the next one when I figured out it's mostly mental rather than just technical. I had to figure out myself first not the charts. I came for the mental and visual challenge of discretionary trading but discovered my edge in combining simple price action with solid psychological and performance principles.

So here’s the real deal. This blog isn’t about sugar-coated lambo stories or pretending losses don’t happen. I’ll dive into chart patterns, market analysis, trading psychology – you name it. I will share lessons learned and observations. I will blog mainly about mastering one trading setup, but also about mastering yourself – understanding your emotions, biases, and psychological tendencies. As in trading, one setup is all you need. The rest is to have the nerves to act and the right money management.

My main inspirations in this journey were mainly Tom Hougaard whose lectures about psychology and scalping brought me back to the hunting ground that the markets are. And most importantly Dr. David Paul who taught me his Wyckoff Spring and Upthrust system and showed me how valuable the longer-term perspective is. I hope similarly this blog will inspire some of you who decided to master your setup - whatever it is.

Please don’t forget I am sharing my insights, observations, and ideas. Consider none of this financial advice and do your due diligence, backtesting, and judgment before putting money on the table. Even if something works for me you have to do it truly yours by countless hours of studying, backtesting, and observing yourself and your reactions. There are no quick wins nor shortcuts in trading, it’s an ultra-marathon, not a sprint.

So thanks for jumping aboard this trading journey with me, subscribe to receive updates, and comment freely.

Now let's hunt some Springs.

Yours truly,

The Spring Hunter
